The objective of the Matimex International Architecture Prize, in its sixth edition, was to present innovative projects proposing a reflection on «Public Residential Architecture. Design places of passage»
Temporary or passing places are scenarios of certain moments in life in which one leaves the daily routine, the family place and is surely home. The architecture and interior design can be welcoming, impressive, scenographic or even threatening, depending on the emotion that you want to provoke in the user.
These typologies include hotels, hostels or pensions, but also those places of forced residence, such as prisons, where functional needs prevail over aesthetic ones. The contest proposed a reflection on architectural spaces using materials from Iris Ceramica Group in the design. The assessment took into account the use of products with an Active Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic™ finish and large-format ceramic plates. Winners in the professional category:
